Elamkulam Service Cooperative Bank

In Elamkulam village, the birthplace of E.M.S. Nambudiripad in Perintalmanna Taluk of Malappuram District, it became a Ikya Naanaya Samgham in 1951 and in 1961 became The Elamkulam Service Co-Operative Bank Ltd. No F 1536, under the control of the Co-Operative Department. This bank has now become a Special grade Bank operating at a profit. This bank’s own new building is known as the EMS Nambudiripad Memorial. Now it has become bank computerised for members in all branches. Except Cherukara, the head office and 3 branches are functioning in their own building. The bank’s spacious auditorium is available for rent at a reasonable rate.

What makes the Bank different from others is an obvious factor; it's customer-friendly policies, approaches and delivers. We believe that customer is the core of every business and enterprise. The complete fulfillment of their needs is our motto. That is why we draft all our deposit schemes and loan plans in a highly customer-oriented manner.

Under the Kerala Government’s arrears settlement scheme, loan arrears settlement adalaths are held for borrowers who have taken loans from Bank and are in arrears, and the participants are provided with facilities to repay their loan arrears with concessions.

A Class members are paid dividends on their shares. Money is set aside from the Bank’s profits, selected from the poorest people, and houses are built for them.

Medical assistance is being provided to A Class members. The Bank pays for funeral expenses if A class members dies

Fertilizers needed by farmers are sold at reasonable prices. Moreover, the consumer gets the festival markets of the respective year at affordable prices.
